DataScience Project

For some years in the labour market a new strategic figure for companies is taking hold: the Data Scientist.

The Data Scientist (DS) is characterized in particular by the presence of both scientific (knowledge of computer technologies, mathematics and statistics, competence in data processing) and human (curiosity, communication, propensity to experiment, creativity, systematicity, the ability to adapt, the ability to learn quickly, flexibility).

Although data science is one of the hottest and growing sectors of the economy, it is observed that this sector is strongly segregated from the point of view of gender, in the sense that it is characterized by a prevalence of male employees. Data science Sector has a dangerous gender gap. The project aims to intervene on this issue with the following objectives:

  • Introduce curricula in data science in European Universities in Human and Social Sciences (such as sociology, psychology, languages, etc.)
  • Increase data science skills among female students
  • Promote a career in data science among women
